Bio
Hi there, my name is Kai Saunders. I am a tattoo artist from the sunny town of Penticton, British Columbia. I have been tattooing since the summer of 2005, and in the industry strong since 2006. Although self taught and only in the industry, Professionally now for two years, I have had the opportunity to work in a few "shops" from Vancouver to Edmonton along the way working with some very inspirational artists as well as nationally and internationally known such as Adam Sky(Vancouver), Justin Kovesy (Edmonton).
My Career all started out while getting tattooed, the process of how the tattoo is applied and the end result just baffled my imagination beyond belief. From there I was very persistent in learning how to tattoo. Shortly after, a local artist (Clint George) took me under his wing and brought me to the oil town of Fort st John, where I was forced to keep myself afloat on the ocean on tattoos walking through the small door. Though I was staying afloat, I was determined to swim to shore and pursue a "Professional career". After moving back to Penticton, I had the chance to do a "guest spot" at a shop in Vancouver called "lotus land Tattoo", previously owned by Adam Sky. After a busy summer tattooing in Penticton, I felt confident I would exceed my expectations in Vancouver and take some knowledge and experience home with me. With monthly trips to Vancouver to LLT I had the opportunity to work with a few other great up and coming artists such as Dan Thompson and Nick Wasko both currently now at "Sacred Heart Tattoo" in Vancouver).
Thru the years of getting tattooed by many different artists, Justin Ormiston (whistler), Mark Ainsworth (Vancouver), Rob Newton (Penticton), I was able make good friends as well as gain some knowledge to help lead me on my new path of owning my own private studio. Now complete and Open (May 08) I am enjoying the life in the Okanogan with my girlfriend and our pug, which both put up with me while working two PT jobs and trying to build my new studio, thank you both!
Thank you as well, for being interested in my work.
